Jon and I decided to take a mini road trip today so we headed down to Monterey. The drive was beautiful and it was really nice to get out of the house. On the way we stopped at a roadside market and bought some pistachios and corn nuts yum! Unfortunately, this is when I realized that I had totally overestimated how hot it would be by the coast. It was in the upper 90's in San Jose when we left so silly me wore a skirt and a tank top. When we got to Monterey it was chilly to say the least. Luckily for me my chivalrous husband bought me a sweatshirt so I wouldn't freeze to death.
We grabbed a bit to eat on the Fisherman's Wharf and took a little stroll. Jon tried clam chowder from every restaurant on the wharf.

This was the awesome house boat we saw while we were there and based on the cost of houses out here this might be Jon and I's only hope of owning a home!

After we left the Fisherman's Wharf we headed to 17 Mile Drive. It was a beautiful drive. Unfortunately it was a pretty foggy day so our pictures did not come out all that great.

This is me in front of The Lone Cyprus. This is apparently one of the most photographed spots in the country.
The houses on 17 Mile Drive we ridiculous! The were all huge and gorgeous. We drove by one house that was for sale so out of curiosity I took one of the fliers. It was listed at $16,900,000.00! It was one of the smaller homes and definitely built in the seventies. It was insane!!!

Our last stop was at the Pebble Beach Golf Course which was beautiful! Everything was so amazingly green and the flowers were so bright and lovely. Over all it was a perfect Sunday! Jon and I had a great time and it was really relaxing. Best of all when we finally made it home Sandy had not destroyed our apartment.
Well Jon just pulled our home made pizza out of the oven so I better go! Til next time!
